In which Lloyd proves just how non-canon he is
A week had passed since Lloyd had helped Elise escape back to the Nexus, and he had found himself slowly getting used to his strange new surroundings. They had little to do with the neighbors in their building (though the young children down the hall had nearly run him over on a few occasions), and while Elise did have several acquaintances around the Nexus Lloyd himself saw little need to make himself familiar with many people. It simply...made him uneasy. The only beings with any real emotion he had ever known were the Seraphim and Grand Cardinals. For all that he barely knew the latter, mostly through reputation and a handful of personal encounters, they were nothing like those he'd seen thus far in this place. His father had said before that an emotionally open person could be read like a book, but here people were so open that at times he couldn't understand them at all.
As a result he had taken to spending much of his time in the library that Elise frequented, perusing the shelves and databases for an eclectic range of topics. Swordsmanship, aerial machines, even a few books about alchemy after Elise explained what it was (though he could barely understand most of it--science was not his strong suit). He'd even found some books about how a human could wield magic after meeting a man in the Nexus who could manipulate fire mana, though he had called his technique firebending. He'd had rather a lot to say about tea as well...
At the moment Lloyd was searching idly through the computer database for the library. It had occurred to him that with as much information as had been assembled, there could well be records from his own world here despite all the efforts to prevent leaks of information. While it was no longer his business if such had happened, he was still curious.
